AWE Tuning - 996TT/X50/GT2 Muffler

Our new Gen2 system uses a lighter single can design, without any increase in sound volume. Born from our work with the 997 GT2, this new muffler design smooths the exhaust tone by incorporating a harmonic cross over effect between the two cylinder banks inside the shared can. Power gains during R&D were very impressive, outstripping the gains we have seen from other systems on the market.

We have taken extra steps to produce a no compromise exhaust muffler. There is absolutely no drone, even at part throttle between 2000 and 2800 rpms, guaranteed. Almost none of our competitors can back up the same claim.

Also unique is that our design incorporates German HJS 200 cell per square inch metal substrate catalytic converters, to ensure long term emission compliance and no check engine lights. The use of premium 200 cell per square inch cats produced less the 1 psi of additional backpressure vs no cat at all.

For die hard track junkies, we offer an optional cat bypass set to work with this muffler, allowing complete removal of the cats within minutes. Please save the use of these pipes for the race track!

Each AWE Tuning muffler features an O2 sensor threaded bung before the driver side catalytic converter for quick and easy installation of a wide band air/fuel sensor. Each system also comes complete with new hanging straps, exhaust nuts, and all gaskets for a perfect, leak free install. This 2.5" diameter system reuses your stock tips.
